Top Ten Songs: Angry Break Up Playlist

#1 - "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson
Let Kelly Clarkson remind you of the bad times and how much better your life will be now that they are gone. Bonus points for cranking it up and singing it along with your buddies at the top of your lungs!
#2 - "My Happy Ending" by Avril Lavigne
Just like Avril you probably thought you were both going to walk down together into the sunset but alas in the real world there aren't always happy endings. Life sucks but hey so did your ex.
#3 - "Better in Time" by Leona Lewis
Leona Lewis reminds you that life will get much better soon even though it probably doesn't feel like it right now. But its always darkest before the dawn right?
#4 - "Over It" by Katherine McPhee
You and Katherine McPhee have both moved on and are so done with all the drama that your relationship caused. Don't forget that being single can be a lot of fun!
#5 - "What Goes Around Comes Around" by Justin Timberlake
Karma is a funny thing and Justin Timberlake says that your ex will get what they got coming. Soon they will wind up dating someone who will break their heart and hopefully you'll hear about it while your happily in love with someone new.
#6 - "Candles" by Hey Monday
Looks like a solo tonight but Hey Monday is positive that you'll be alright. You can also download the "Glee" version but the premise on the episode it was sang was more as a love story so maybe not.
#7 - "One Step at a Time" by Jordin Sparks
Love takes time and you and Jordin Sparks are going to have to be patient. If that means waiting till your thirties to find the love of your life then so be it. Or find that second love...or third...whichever number!
#8 - "Gives You Hell" by The All-American Rejects
The All-American Rejects do not wish your ex well and neither do you. Do you miss them? Maybe...NOT! They need to remember what they missed and you need to strut your stuff and remind them your are hot property.
Performed on Glee by Lea Michele when her character, Rachel Berry, was simply fed up with her on again, off again boyfriend, Finn Hudson. Those hot and cold messages he kept sending her? He deserved for her to tell him to go to hell in song.
#9 - "Firework" by Katy Perry
You might feel like a big loser now but Katy Perry disagrees. There was a reason they dated you in the beginning and there are tons of reasons new people will want to date you. In fact, you are pretty awesome and too bad they were too stupid to see that for themselves.
Lea Michele sings her own version on Glee which is absolutely fantastic and either hers or Katy Perry's version are great for a good ego boost.
#10 "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac
This song was written about the real life divorce between the founders of Fleetwood Mac, Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks and became a classic they must have performed together hundreds of times (makes your break up look easy!).
Again, Lea Michele sings this on Glee and her version is more modern and she gives it her own spin but the original is a classic that cannot be touched.

Being of the "older generation" maybe I should work on being a classic - that sounds much better than just being old. Lots of the modern music isn't bad at all, I like some of it quite a bit, until I either can't understand the words or wish I couldn't understand them! I have teenage boys and have heard quite a variety. Right now I tend to listen to quite a bit of country music, which I originally HATED, but I can understand the words and relate to much of it. I really will give your top ten a try though and let you know how it goes :)

I see that you are fairly new here too. Welcome aboard! HubPages is quite a lot of fun and, I'll warn you, a bit addicting. I will tell you that your heartbreak songs made me aware of my ripe old age. The only one of these songs that I know is "Go Your Own Way" - I have always loved Fleetwood Mac (and especially Stevie Nicks). I do love a good poignant song so I'll need to check these others out. I am a little proud of myself for atleast knowing who seven of the ten artists are and some of their songs. Do I get any points for that?
